The Wexner Center for the Arts is the only U.S. stop for the blockbuster exhibit. It sheds new light on the celebrated Pop Art master, who was among the most influential artists of the 20th century. Featuring films, videos, paintings, drawings, prints, wallpaper, installations, objects, seldom heard audio recordings, and extraordinary archival material, Other Voices, Other Rooms focuses on concepts at the heart of Warhol's work: consumer culture, sexual identity, social transgression, and the eradication of distinctions between high and low culture. The works in the show - some 700 items - date from 1949 to 1987.

Objects of Wonder from The Ohio State University at the Columbus Museum of Art

Both founded in the 1870s, the Columbus Museum of Art and The Ohio State University have shared a passion for knowledge and collecting for more than 130 years. Objects of Wonder takes its cue from the age-old "cabinet of curiosities," which displayed an astonishing range of objects, from the scientific to the artistic. The exhibition brings to light the surprising treasures held in the university's vast collections, from matchboxes to Madonnas, pigeons to paintings, and cartoons to costumes. Each object has a story to tell and experienced together the objects inspire unexpected connections. Bring your curiosity as you discover and explore the wonders of OSU at CMA.

Sesame Street: The Body at COSI Columbus
October 4, 2008-January 4, 2009
Grab the kids and run, jump, and play your way through a new interactive exhibition all about the human body. Learn all about the different body parts you can see, like your hands, feet, and head. Help Elmo ride a bike, make Grover jump and dance, see what happens to food you with Oscar, and learn how to keep your body healthy and strong.

Rockwell's America: Celebrating the Art of Norman Rockwell at the Ohio Historical Center
Nov. 1, 2008-March 1, 2009
This is the largest Norman Rockwell exhibit in the world and will feature more than 100 Saturday Evening Post covers, 35 life size sculptures of Rockwell's most famed characters and a recreation of Rockwell's studio.

To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures From the Brooklyn Museum at the Columbus Museum of Art
February 13-June 7, 2009
Drawing from the Brooklyn Museum's vast collection of Egyptian monuments and objects, the exhibition will feature more than 100 pieces that illustrate the ancient civilization's view of death and the afterlife.

Enrich the Experience at the Ohio Statehouse
Opens March 1, 2009
The Ohio Statehouse will unveil a $3.5 million interactive vision of Ohio history. With the goal to "Enrich the Experience" of visitors, the Statehouse will offer video displays, images projected on the high, vaulted ceilings in the crypt and a big-screen TV equipped with "gesture tech," a step beyond touch-screen in which gestures activate images.

NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament at Nationwide Arena
March 21-29, 2009
The NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament returns to Nationwide Arena when Columbus plays host to first- and second-round games.

Lincoln Theatre Reopening in the King-Lincoln District
Spring 2009
The Lincoln Theatre will open spring 2009 after an $11 million restoration. The theater originally opened in 1928 and catered specifically to African-American patrons and performers. Among the jazz greats playing there were Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Etta James, James Brown, Columbus native Nancy Wilson and three-year-old Sammy Davis Jr., who made his debut there. When it reopens, the Lincoln will feature the Jazz Arts Group's Jazz Academy and will be home to numerous performing arts groups, including Ujima Theatre Company, Columbus Children's Theatre and the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus. World-renowned actor, singer, director, choreographer and dancer Maurice Hines will serve as artistic director in residence and will helm three productions each year in the genres of musical theater, dance and concert performance.

Grange Insurance Audubon Center Opening at the Whittier Peninsula
May 2009
Covering five acres south of downtown, the Grange Insurance Audubon Center will feature gardens, hiking trails, ponds, wetlands, an observation deck and terrace, birdfeeders, a nature playground and an outdoor amphitheatre. Whittier Peninsula already is known as a birding area, as more than 200 species of birds have been recorded there.

Huntington Park Opening in the Arena District
Spring 2009
The Arena District will offer professional sports year-round when Huntington Park opens Spring 2009. The 10,000-seat ballpark will be home to the Columbus Clippers, Triple-A baseball affiliate for the Washington Nationals.

Broadway Across America-Columbus: The Color Purple at the Ohio Theatre
May 5-10, 2009
Enjoy a soul-stirring musical based on the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and the Oscar-nominated film by Steven Spielberg. It is the unforgettable and inspiring story of a woman named Celie, who triumphs over tremendous odds to find joy in life, and her true inner beauty.

Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science at COSI Columbus
Summer 2009
Unearth the secrets of an ancient Egyptian world in an interactive exhibition featuring the hidden stories and artifacts of a lost civilization. Lost Egypt will take visitors on a quest for knowledge using hands-on challenges, artifacts, and video guidance from real archaeologists to uncover the past and decipher tales from the tombs.

Polar Frontier at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Summer 2009
Polar bears will return to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in the new Polar Frontier. It also will be home to Artic foxes, brown bears and more.

Chihuly in Columbus at the Franklin Park Conservatory
September 25, 2009-March 2010
See thousands of colorful glassworks by Dale Chihuly at Franklin Park Conservatory, the only botanical garden in the world with a permanent Chihuly collection. These works drew a record number of visitors to the conservatory when they were first shown from October 2003 to July 2004. In addition, several new Chihuly works will be on display.

Organized to complement the reinstallation of works by Dale Chihuly at Franklin Park Conservatory, the exhibit will feature several large-scale works, many using neon.

African Savanna at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Opening 2012
Lions, cheetahs, wild dogs/hyenas, giraffes, zebras and other African animals will inhabit African Savanna.

Scioto Mile on the Downtown riverfront
Opening 2012
As part of Columbus' Bicentennial Celebration in 2012, Scioto Mile will feature a promenade and renovations to Bicentennial Park, headquarters for many of the city's annual festivals and events. When complete, the Scioto Mile will stretch from the Arena District to Whittier Peninsula and feature parks, boulevards, water features, plazas and bikeway and pedestrian paths, creating a green corridor that reconnects the downtown to the river.

This exhibit featuring the prominent American pop artist will be the museum's first major exhibit after its renovation is completed in 2012.
