NEW DESTINATION MARKETING CAMPAIGN

We're excited to launch a new marketing campaign designed to attract visitors to our destination. This campaign is just one of a number of efforts to position Columbus as a great place to live, work and visit.

Our primary audiences are convention and meeting planners, leisure tourists and group tour planners. Our job is clear: market and sell Greater Columbus, resulting in greater visitation and increased visitor spending.

Our secondary audience is the residents of Greater Columbus. It's the experience visitors have while they're here that invites them to return again and again. Engaging the entire community to help deliver a terrific experience is critical.

Our audiences are constantly bombarded by advertising messages trying to sell them something. Nothing stands out as distinct.

We've turned the table upside down and developed an approach that will promote our gems - after all, that's what it's all about. But first, we'll catch their attention in a non-traditional way. With this campaign, we will initiate a conversation, create intrigue, spark a smile; give our audiences a reason to be interested in what we're saying. (Remember, this isn't brain surgery, it's advertising.)

By spinning things a bit differently, we'll start to create a personality for our city, and perhaps create some BUZZ. Isn't that what it's all about?
